Social Concerns

Home / Social Concerns

Our social teaching is based on and inseparable from our understanding that every human being is created in the image of God and redeemed by Jesus Christ, and therefore is invaluable and worthy of respect as a member of the human family. Every person, from the moment of conception to natural death, has inherent dignity and a right to a life consistent with that dignity. Human dignity comes from God, not from any human quality or accomplishment.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

Founded in 1833, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a worldwide organization of lay Catholics, following Christ’s call to serve the poor, the suffering, and the deprived.

The St. Catherine Labouré St. Vincent de Paul Society generates funding through the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store located at 200 Homer Rd., Commerce, GA.  This funding is used to serve our local communities of Jackson County and Banks County.  We are currently in great need of volunteers .

For more information on how you can volunteer, fill out the Social Concerns Inquiry Form and stop by the thrift store.
